Tongue of Silence

YANG Chung-Ming's works The Sound of Waves and Tongue of Silence explore the connections between time, nature, and human perception. We see the moon's bright side, evoking gentle emotions, while its dark side remains hidden. Throughout history, humans have observed natural rhythms and developed the concept of time. In these pieces, Yang asks, "What exists on the dark side of the moon?" and "What lies behind the concept of time?" Tides, influenced by the moon, mirror the cyclical motion of clocks. But when a clock loses its hands, how do we perceive time? By removing these indicators, Yang shifts our understanding of time from an intellectual concept to a sensory experience.
